Kotlin facade over the libessence be_auth_* singleton. Configures the process-wide heartbeat client, fires the initial synchronous authenticate, and spawns the background heartbeat thread.
Avatar.load (and Fixture constructors that take an apiSecret) call configure before any C ABI fixture/runtime work, so the runtime never produces frames in an unauthenticated state.
On Android the heartbeat is currently compiled in stub mode (BES_NO_HTTP) — calling configure succeeds but no HTTP traffic is issued. Real heartbeat lands with the libcurl + BoringSSL vendoring tracked as P1.5H.
